Well written, directed, and acted, the original "Saw" is unfortunately tainted by its series of unimpressive sequels.

The story is about Two men wake up in a dingy bathroom, chained to the floor. They are the newest victims of Jigsaw, a serial killer who sets elaborate traps to prove a point. This horror movie has a chilling and a ugly look to this movie and I mean about that in a good way. Jigsaw is the greatest horror character in any other horror movies.

Before it disintegrated into a mindless franchise, the first Saw film is a well-made, slow-building horror mindtrip that plays on feelings of paranoia and claustrophobia. The cast is the best of the assembled Saw films - including the brilliant duo of Elwes and Glover, who play off each other well.

I like all the SAW movies but this was the best out of all of them.After this movie was made the directors sold out to Hollywood.Just like the directors of The Blair Witch Project did

One of the more surprisingly entertaining low, low budget indie films to hit mainstream cinema. The building tension, solitary confinement and ever twisting plot make the film a standout. A hybrid of different ideas and genres, it was a new alternative at the time of release.

I guess one movie was enough. It kinda wears you down a little bit when you see more of the same. The strain of repetition can kill you! However, I enjoyed it. I mean not the killings, heavens no. It's the way that this psycho guy wants to make his point clear- pretty clear. Oh, you don't want it any clearer than that. It makes you hate this perv. A lot of suspense.

I loved this movie. I have seen all of the sequels with the exception of part 5. All I can say is sometimes you do not need to make a sequel.

Honestly, who doesn't love the Saw movies? They're incredible. And, like with all movie series, the first one is the best.
