Harrison Ford excels playing against type as a beleaguered doctor trying to locate his kidnapped wife in Paris. He enlists a young courier (Seigner) to navigate the seedy Parisian underworld. Polanski's direction is solid but the sound was terrible and some plot threads go nowhere.

Another decent thriller starring Harrison Ford, the Paris setting makes for a nice change of scenery. Ford is believable as an ordinary man caught up in escalating events that are completely out of his control and it has some nice set-pieces, ably handled by veteran director Roman Polanski.

Not one of Ford's best. The story is sketchy, the action mediocre.
