A talented, bright 9-year-old boy embarks on quest to New York in order to find the lock that fits a key his father left behind before being killed in the 9/11 attacks. Okay this movie was okay, the kid in this movie was so weird and annoying and the story was weak the acting was that bad.

This was so much better than I thought it would be. It's sad, touching, and very emotional. In my opinion this could not have been done better. Tom Hanks is great as always, Sandra Bullock is good. She has been impressing me more and more. Last but by now means least, Thomas Horn knocks it out of the park.

funny how you can see things differently, the weird kid and the grandpa who didn't talk was what made the movie more interesting for me. And yes he was rude, but there was clearly something "different" about him (he said in the movie that they had tested him for asperges-syndrom). What's intersting in the movie is the relationship betwwen the caracters and the psychological aspects.. for me at least.. i loved it!

"Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close" by Yojimbo

A young, mildly autistic boy deals with his grief at the loss of his father during 9/11 by seeking the lock belonging to a key he finds amongst his father's possessions. Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close is very much an exercise in heart string-tugging as we join the boy on his quest to make sense of death and loss. The film very much relies on this central performance and young Thomas Horn is belies his years with a believable and engaging turn that is both amusing and engaging; the chemistry with both Tom Hanks as his father and Maz Von Sydow works particularly well. Of course, as with all films of this type, it's all very contrived and I couldn't help thinking that the script could've got to the point rather sooner, but the sensitive direction, solid performances all round and charmi...

"The Worst Day"

Set in 9/11 attack in New York, Oskar Schell finds a key on the closet of his father who died on the tragedy. Believing that this key would lead him to something that his father wanted to tell him, he explores the states to find the lock it would open.

I was not expecting much from this movie before actually seeing it. But the moment I saw the first shot of the film, it pulled me in instantly to the mystery and drama of this kid whom I do not recognize to any other film I have watched. Obviously, the story did not come cheap and very shallow, attacking from the set-up of the infamous 9/11 attack in New York. Actors, of course delivered well despite the fact that these were not the best performances of Hanks and Bullock, still they deliver well enough.
I love the whole picture in ...

Heart tugging and extremely well acted film...

This movie was absolutely amazing! Thomas Horn had what was in my opinion one of the best breakout performances ever by a young actor! This incredibly emotional story, hooks you almost instantly and keeps your heart in the story until the end. This story is of one family's heartbreaking struggle through one of the gravest tragedies we have experienced in our lifetime. It will touch you in ways you wouldn't expect a movie to be able to do. Some of the most dynamic scenes performed by a child actor will play out right before your eyes and all the while you will be sad and at the same time amazed at how incredibly well this young man can make you believe his feelings are real to him. There are several relationships that are interesting and some you want to watch grow. Tom Hanks and Sandra Bu...
