Not even close to the movie "The Hustler" was, the dialogue is so bland and the movie is so hollow that you forget you're watching something by Martin Scorsese.

The Color of Money is a solid, yet unspectacular film. It is entertaining, but isn't nearly as good as most of Scorsese's other films. Paul Newman is fantastic in his Oscar winning performance as "Fast" Eddie Felson. Tom Cruise is annoying and cocky. The story provides a good insight into the dark underbelly of pool hustling.

It's a servicable sequel that misses the smoky tension of the first film. Scorsese directs more of a standard poolhall drama and, though Newman is spectacular, as always, the film is missing the freshness and power of the Hustler.

A very good cast, intricate cinematography, amazing camera angles and superb performances. The scenes were realistic because of Scorsese's masterful eye when it comes to detail. Tom Cruise was okay, Paul Newman brilliant as Fast Eddie Felson. An enjoyable flick especially for pool aficionado's like myself. Not one of the directors best movies, its still entertaining to view.

Swift and smoky. Sharp camera shots and energetic, intense characters, but the third act is a little confusing

The color of money is not great really and not a great sequel to the hustler. It is rather repetitive with the characters fighting over the same things over and over again. Some of the artistic shots in the film do not work all to well, and most of all it is somewhat dated in its eighties look and soundtrack. Otherwise though I did enjoy watching it though. I just liked seeing where Fast Eddie Felson went after the Hustler and it is entertaining enough for that. Oscar Win Best Actor Paul Newman 3/5- Not Newman's best worst or his best portrayal of Fast Eddie. Newman though gives a good performance still like he usually does. He does not go beyond like he does in almost all of his other oscar nominated roles but in this he is good.

I love this movie. It's one of my favorite Scorseses. Anything with Paul Newman in it is going to be good. But, this one is great!

A decent sequel to the Hustler. Newman was the best actor and Mastrantonio (best supporting actress) were good, but I don't know if they were award worthy. The Cinemetography was goot, Cruise vs. Newman, not as good as Felson Vs. Minnesota Fats.

A very good sequel to the now unnoticed "The Hustler" as Paul Newman reprises his role of yesteryear. Tom Cruise is perfect as the cocky yet personable pool shark. While not Scorsese's best, if you like Cruise, Newman, or Pool - see it!
