A mid-90s teen comedy that's surprisingly smart, and never resorts to cruelty.

I guess this is considered a cult classic, but, for me, it just felt flat. Silverstone and Paul Rudd both give energetic performances, but the Shakespeare story doesn't work as well when transplanted into the valley girl setting and the whole film sort of felt like a Disney Channel film. OK, but nothing special.

Surprisingly enjoyable. It's not just a movie for high-schoolers. Still very funny to this day.

Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) is a rich and popular girl about to turn 16. Alicia Silverstone was really effective on this film. Produced a fad in terms of language (much like Swingers and Heathers): Cher Horowitz - "Duh, it's, like, a famous quote." "Totally based on my powers of persuasion." "It's like a painting, see? From far away, it's OK, but up close, it's a big old mess." Screenplay was well written and the film had some hilarious moments and solid supporting cast. Clueless is a joy if your in your teens experiencing high-school and would like a transformation for the good.

So, like, whatever cause DUH! "Clueless," based off of the novel "Emma," is certainly one of those films that most people will roll their eyes at, but hear me out. This film is the quintessential 90s high school epic. Next to "10 Things I Hate About You," "Clueless" is the only film that was able to capture in a comedic way the upper class Beverley Hills lifestyle without offending anyone and letting loose Jeep-loads of laughs along the way. A great retelling of the classic matchmaking story, "Clueless" is much more of a social commentary on love and wealth than a comedy about a blonde bimbo with a credit card and a heart of gold.

A chick-flick that makes you laugh out loud at how clueless the characters in this movie really are. Cher is the most popular girl in school (or so she thinks) and she is snobby to anyone who isn't in her social group. And when a new girl arrives, Cher decides she 'desperately needs a make-over'. So Cher helps her to become popular, but when the new girl becomes more popular than she is, she gets jealous. All I'm gonna say is: Funny-As!
