I Can't Wait for the Sequel

It's not easy to create a unique thriller these days, but this is one. It's the same basic formula for thrillers/horror movies, but the major details are ones I've not seen before. Very interesting, as I imagined myself trying to cope under those conditions. Krasinski didn't have the cred for a dramatic role, but he delivered and certainly has cred, now. Blunt delivered, as well, as to be expected. The kids delivered. The writers delivered, the cinematographers delivered, the tech guys delivere...

Didn't even hear of this until minutes before I saw it, and was probably the best surprise all year! In the top percentile of AI/"robot" movies, with some of the standard eye-rolls of Sci-Fi Action but high quality writing and suspense... a few parts may be predictable to the astute but it never felt dumbed down, nor convoluted... gripping and perfect twists. Modern Matrix-like action and feels like a whole franchise/universe could be based off this character (or characters). More pre...

“It Must Be An Iron Deficiency”

“I’m sorry I made the water so hot.”
“It wasn’t you.”
~ dialogue from “Verónica”

“As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.”
~ Romans 7:17

Denial is certainty a theme in the movie, but for me the big takeaway is that trying to punish yourself for the sin that comes into this world through you can lead to tragic consequences, that no one deserves. When you come to that moment when you realize that a great shadow lies over you, there’s a temptation to de...

An absolutely terrific Star Wars movie, “Solo: A Star Wars Story” absolutely blows away the extremely dissapointing “The Last Jedi”. Director Ron Howard does a perfect job of balancing nostalgia and non-stop action and fun. Acting is excellent across the board and technical crefits are all first rate. The best movie of the year so far.

History as only Spielberg could tell it: history-free. Aimless and way too long. Only saving graces: it was inoffensive, no gratuitous violence, and Malkovich is so quirky that you keep watching just to see what his character will do next. It was just...weird.

The book was ok but the movie is bad, really bad. bad acting, really bad production and bad script, and I only watched the first 45 minutes, don´t want to know the rest of it.

Metropolis is much more than just a sci-fi film. Certainly, we are talking about the most astonishing project of a German genius named Fritz Lang, who definitely had the guts of experimenting with something different in order to create cinema. What Fritz Lang offered to the world in 1927 became one of the most ambitious and fascinating cinematographic projects in cinema history, not only because of its thematic elements, but because of its visual style. Basically, Metropolis created a whole new...

Silence is survival...

It’s not often a truly unique movie experience comes along. ‘A Quite Place’ is definitely one of those. Making his first big-screen debut, John Krasinski also served as co-script writer, and is the lead character in this film. Starring alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt, he delivers an earnest and engrossing story. At 90 minutes, this film immediately engages the audience in the narrative with only small bits of information on the actual backstory, and the story line remains highly focus...
