I recall viewing this in the theater and not really that enthused by the simplistic plot. It's hard to picture Marky Mark as a rocker as well though the acting was descent. In my opinion, a few popular cameos and a better script could have made this a better rock flick. Rock Star has its comedic moments but fizzles out because of a few coy scenes.

Feels unintentionally funny through most of the film. Nothing but the usual sequences and dialogue you'd witness in a made-for-tv music biopic. Middle of the road average movie.

Pretty good, if not above average, rock n' roll coming of age story. Its really the performances that hold it together while the script is pretty cliche. Still, worth a look.

I'm a sucker for movies with music. I'm a bigger sucker for movies with 80's music.

Make a movie about an glam-rock 80's band looking for a new lead singer and the story of this guy.....yeah....it's a good movie to me.

Wahlberg does a great job as the "hero" in the movie. You love his role and how decent of a guy he is. It twists in your stomach when he makes bad choices. You can't help but empathize at times. It's killing.

Aniston is a good side-kick in the film; brings a little innocence to the world of rock.

The message and story are very well done. Life can be one hell of a ride. But all in all you have to find out who you really are. Sometimes the roads traveled aren't always the best ones; but sometimes that's all you need to realize that you don't have to …
