Based on the book by J.K. Rowling. A boy finds out he is a wizard and that he was excepted to the Magic School, Hogwarts. It's a year filled with finding new friends and learning about new and old enemies. This movie has cartoonist visual effect's and corner writing but the movie has a sweet heart to it.

A little lighter than the later (and superior) films, but this was a great entry for the franchise. Pure magical fun!

A serviceable enough children's film but it's just crammed with rehashed, cliched old ideas and obvious sight gags and decorated with over-used and terribly dated CGI. Why anyone over the age of twelve should concern themselves with such juvenile escapism is extremely puzzling to me.

This movie... has two version of the subtitle. I honestly don’t know why this is. But Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Based on the book from J.R Rowling This movie had to set up a lot and you feel the set up. And it’s tirering on repeat watches. So what’s Harry Potter story. Well I have read the books and their amazing regardless. I’m going to look at the movie and how is the story, writing, and characters. Harry Potter is a boy who was ask to come to a magical school called hog warts and his muggle uncle and aunt don’t want him to go and muggle are people like us who aren’t magical like Harry Potter. Potter also had his parents die from the most darkest wizard who his name must not be named.... Voldemort. Voldemort wants the Sorcerers stone a object that can make him …

Despite having never read the Harry Potter books, I was pretty sure what I was getting into before I watched the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: a basic kid's fantasy with a few kid wizards get mixed up in an evil, magical, plot. And I was correct. Essentially, I got what I expected, which- in this case- isn't a bad thing, but is it unfair to have hoped for a bit more from one of the most famed film series of all time?
Harry Potter is an orphan child that is taken to Hogwarts (a school for wizards) upon being informed that he has magical abilities. Harry befriends Ron Weasely and Hermione Granger, and it isn't long until the trio discover a villainous plan to steal the Sorcerer's Stone.
As far as fantasy films go, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is pretty solid. A …

As indicated in my review of Deathly Hallows: Part 1, I have never read the books, not even a huge fan of the franchise. I only had time to view the 1st of the successful franchise just recently. The character development/plot was decent; score was nothing special, visual effects were realistic but the pace of the film seems to drag in the middle. It was fascinating to see the origin story of Harry Potter, even the formation of his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Too many background characters involved and lacking of action made this film plain. If only the triumvirate personalities were well built-up since this was the beginning for one of the most popular and successful franchises on screen. A fun beginning to what’s to come, still has some humor and entertaining …
