A black smith teams goes on an adventure Pirate Jack Sparrow as they are chased after by Jack's old pirate buddies. 2003 was a great year for movies because lord of the rings, kill bill, and this fun and amazing movie knowed as Pirates of the carribbean.

I like pirates who act this way. I like Depp who acts as a pirate acting that way. The story is great and the humor even greater.

Although richly populated with a fascinating cast of swashbuckling characters, this first film is the franchise's simplest - driven by characters and a straightforward plot. Johnny Depp creates one of his most impressive creations - a half-drunk, flamboyant rockstar pirate captain that has now joined film's canon of most memorable characters. The rest of the cast, save from Geoffrey Rush, is somewhat wooden, but the bold action scenes and frequent asides of black humor make up for it. For a film initially based on a theme park ride, Pirates crafts a world of its own, full of fun adventure and romance.

This movie is based on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney theme parks. It was directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The story follows blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) as they rescue the kidnapped Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) from the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, captained by Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). Incredible funny and well made, with a fantastic screenplay and visual effects.A modern adventure classic.

Fun adventure film done in the spirit of old swashbuckling classics. Great mix of fantasy and traditional pirate lore, with a memorable cast of characters.

This Movie was really really great to me. The only aspect of the Film I didn't like was the idea of cursed skeleton pirates and Admiral Covington. It really is a great move compared to some of the Live-Action films Disney had released before this. Jack Sparrow was don't brilliantly by Johnny Depp and that weird role I have grown accustomed to seeing him do. Go see this film.
