Once again Costner uses the Hollywood establishment to act out his childish fantasies and runs around the woods in tights in a laughable po-faced pantomime. Rubbish.

This is an overly melodramatic and sappy version of the Robin Hood tale. It doesn't help that Kevin Costner displays an unconvincing English accent throughout the film and that the movie boasts a modern, Bryan Adams-infused soundtrack, sort of like a medieval Young Guns, but not as fun.

Robin of Locksley (Costner) encounters and saves Azeem (Freeman). Sheriff of Nottingham (Rickman) rules England. The Sheriff proposes to Marian while Robin is being hunted. A wonderful cast yet the screenplay doesn't bring anything new to the plate. Had a few likable action scenes but its pace was just to dull. Best performances are from Freeman and Rickman. This murky and violent version of Robin Hood.

Wow Robin Hood so has a nice american accent, yep he sure sounds like he was born in Britain alright.
The story is about are main character Robin Hood returns home with a Moorish companion to find his father murdered, his land taken and the land ruled by the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham. Moving to Sherwood Forest, he starts a band of thieves to undermine the sheriff and bring an end to his corruption.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a depressing, sloppy movie with less character development from are character's and more of the action. Kevin Costener through out this movie used a american accent and not a British accent and to me that is just lazy. What's next? a Lincoln film starring a welsh actor how doesn't try to put a accent on and just users a welsh accent through the the …

Not very good, But the people loved it.

Yes, this movie is 22 years old, yes, it's taken me this long to see this film. And, well...I can hardly say that it was worth the wait. It was just a pretty average film. It had a huge star, in fact probably the biggest star of the time in Kevin Costner (who goes back in fort between a bad British accent and a southern drawl so many times throughout that it becomes comical), that lady who was in every movie of the early 90's (Mastrantonio), the next big thing (Slater), a young-ish Morgan Freeman, and one of my favorite actors Alan Rickman, but even that star power couldn't save this film from a terrible script.
However, without this film we would've never had the biggest song of 1991 Everything I Do (I Do It for You) by everyone's favorite Canadian Bryan Adams. So, it's got that …
