"Killer Joe" feels like a Quentin Tarantino movie, but with none of the likability of one.

This movie had a chance. The acting is horrible. I thought Hirsch had talent and I was wrong. I liked the plot and the quirky nature of the movie but just couldn't get over the simplicity. The ending was also a bit of a cop out. Worth a rent if you have seen most everything else.

Nothing spectacular about this movie, the story-line was pretty good, a Hit man hired to kill a mother by her children and husband who gets caught up in some drama. Something was missing, whether it was the acting or characters in whole or the writing or the location/directing i couldn't quite put my finger on it. Really depending on your personal preference you could like this movie or hate it, it will not be anybody's favorite movie but it is something you can get dragged in to and get your attention, hoping something happens. The ending was very unpredictable though, probably the best part of the movie was the ending, i will not give it away but i did like the ending.

I got the dark parts, not the funny parts.

These only one thing I got during this movie and that's the really dark parts, but not the comedy.

The story to Killer Joe is about a Detective "Killer" Joe Cooper, a hired hit man with the manners of a Southern gentleman, who will do the job - for an upfront fee, that Chris and Ansel can't pay. Just as Joe is about to leave, he spots Dottie (Temple), Chris' innocent younger sister. Joe makes Chris an offer, he'll keep Dottie as sexual collateral until the money is collected and his fee can be paid.

Has I said in my Bernie review, 2011 was the biggest come back for Matthew McConaughey and in this movie he once again brings it his all and that's what I like to see from him. I learned today that actors can start off in bad movies or mediocre films and it may take a while to get …

Killer Joe

I was starting to rethink my disdain of Matthew McConaughey after watching Mud. Then I had to ruin my newly heightened opinion of the actor by watching Killer Joe. Killer Joe is the title character of a hit man. The movie also is about a drug dealer and lots of hate. This movie especially hated the idea of a decent ending. I spent two hours in agony, wishing the movie would end so the characters could end their suffering raunch and disgust of their lives. Just when Killer Joe finally has epiphany that the world is bigger than himself and it is possible for character growth, the movie ends. The viewer is not privy to that side of Joe. Maybe that is where the comedy comes into the film, leaving the viewer to want more of a film they couldn't stomach.

A family starts turning to each other as debt problem arises. They hire a contract killer to murder the mother to get the insurance. Things get more complicated when the killer grows some obsession to the daughter.

***

Matthew McConaughey deserves all the praises to this movie. I agree that this is one his best performances. The rest of the cast seemed to overact including Juno Temple. I did not expect that this film would be this "x-rated". I expected extreme actions but not really something sexual. I'm not a fan of bloody film that is why I was really distracted to most of the scenes. Moreover, I was not sure if the film supposed to be thrilling or erotic? Like I said, I think there were unnecessary sensual parts.

I appreciate the story perse especially the twists and turns, …
