I knew literally nothing about this movie going in and was blown away. In a frankness and in harsh black and white that mirrors the Neorealistic era of filmmaking, this is a story of crime, police tension, and poverty on the streets of France. It's in your face, bold, and unforgettable.

On the cover it has a quote from Jodie Foster saying this movie rocked her world. I didn't get it, but then it's just me.
