Urban comedy gives the sense of how things would go down in a neighborhood such as this. It feels lived in, with easily identifiable people and situations. Most of the humor comes from the relatable every day feeling. One of Chris Tucker's funniest performances. Laid back easy entertainment.

This movie's hilarious. It's hard to imagine Ice Cube making a movie this funny.

One of the best of the urban comedy films and one of Ice Cube's best roles to date. With Tucker along for the ride, all is well, even if there are a bunch of stereotypes thrown in. It doesn't break any barriers but it may bust a gut.

This movie has many great quotes. Although its not saying much, this is truly Ice Cube's greatest work. Chris Tucker make the movie. Great little things keep surfacing the more times you watch it (one of my favorite being smokey's rough running car that won't turn off). Also has some great stories within the movie, such as the time Smokey wound up naked in Debo's pigeon coup or the story of how Red got his black eye.
