All Build Up to a Snoozer Climax

I'm all about Daniel Craig and would love to be a Bond girl - either the badass version or just the eye candy haha I don’t care, sign me up! But wtf this movie bored me to tears! I wanted to like it, especially after the really amazing opening scene, but so much of this movie just draaaaaggs. A lot of the story is Bond trying to figure out who's behind some secret organization. It's kind of fun following along with him, but it doesn't lead to anything exciting. The payoff is SO WEAK. Plus, they try to force this whole weird backstory between Bond and the bad guy that just feels like it's from another movie/franchise.

Craig was good though imo. I know he got a lot of hate for it after saying the "I'd rather slash my wrist than do another Bond," but I thought he was still good. He …

Tries to fill some gaps but leaves some emptiness

Well the writers for Bond have gone and thrown it all against the wall to see what sticks in this semi completion of the trilogy of Daniel Craig efforts. It tries with a heavy hand to tie some of the history of the 50 years of bond films in all too often. A darker version to be sure of any of his predecessors, Craig plays the cold emotionless nature of the business against the feeling any kind of emotional attachment to the people (mostly women) that he uses along the way. There are repercussions for his actions however and he is brought to task for his transgressions along the way. Feeling a little under over the top is fine with me as far as the action sequences go. I prefer realistic reaction chase scenes wherever it may take them. Best example was the parkour chase scene from Craigs …

A Bond Film That Kind of Underwhelms

The fourth movie of the Daniel Craig movies, Specter is about, who else, James Bond. With this story, we have James Bond who is trying to find a man that's been running a secret organization, played by Christoph Waltz. In order to catch this man, he has to travel to tons of various places and do some action stuff as well with all the other things we expected our agent to do. Now, I really like the Daniel Craig films. I loved Casino Royale, I thought Quantum of Solace was just mediocre, and Skyfall was a good film. With Specter, if I were to do a power ranking of these movies, I would put it in my 3rd spot. What I really like about this film is that some of the action is really cool. They go through some really unique action sequences and they can be really entertaining. There is …

Spectre of the Past

The James Bond franchise is one of the longest and most successful in Hollywood. In that long history I have to say that Skyfall (form 2012) is, if not the best, easily one of the best films in the long-running series. Following up that film is a daunting task - for actors and director alike - and though Spectre can't match the heights achieved by Skyfall, it is still a solid and enjoyable Bond outing and fans of what Daniel Craig has brought to to the role (as well as director Sam Mendes) won't be disappointed.

As with all Bond films, we have to get a crazy opening. This time we journey to Mexico City - during the Dia de los Muertos celebration no less - as we have Bond tracking down a white-suited man - a man, we learn, who is planning a massive terrorist attack. Sure, he has to …

'Spectre' is another solid James Bond adventure. It doesn't tread much new ground, but it delivers what we've come to expect, and does so with class. The action is plentiful. Exciting chases/fights are shot with as much practicality as possible. Always a plus. Being a direct continuation to 'Skyfall', I wasn't expecting a lighter and more fanciful tone such as present. Bond's character has been taken back to his wild and lose days. The story attempts to tie together the events of the previous three Bond Films in a way that involves the character's personal history. It builds to a revelation which doesn't seem all too revealing given that so much (plot wise) is borrowed from the oldest of 007 movies. There's a bit too much recycling for me to be as involved this time. I still …

Bond. James Bond. What else is there?

Daniel Craig is the best James Bond since Sean Connery at the height of his tenure as 007 decades ago. If Spectre has anything going for it, it's that. As far as Daniel Craig's output has gone, Spectre is not on par with Skyfall or Casino Royale but it is still miles ahead of Quantum of Solace. And I liked Quantum of Solace.
Its leisurely pace may prove tiresome for some but otherwise Spectre is a entertaining romp and a noticeably affectionate love letter to the James Bond franchise. It's hard to criticize the film for so thoroughly reveling in its tried-and-true formula and who could with a straight face without admitting how thoroughly enjoyable director Sam Mendes makes it. And it's shot so beautifully. Spectre is one of the best filmed motion pictures of 2015.
And the action is …

Spectre - Movie Review

Mr. White: "You are a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr Bond".

The story in Spectre is about a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre.

So I've just seen "Spectre" a few days ago and it was pretty good. It wasn't as fantastic as Casino Royale or Skyfall, but it's nowhere near Quantum of Solace. This was my most anticipated movie of 2015 and it didn't disappoint.

Sam Mendes returns as director and once again he impresses me with the type of film making he uses in this film, because when the first sentence started and he uses the one take shot again I was impressed. Mendes uses the same …

"Spectre" by Yojimbo

Following the receipt of a secret communique, Bond takes it upon himself to ignore orders and follow the trail of a shadowy organisation that seems to have disturbing links to his own past tragedies. Sam Mendes once more takes us on a tour of the history of 007, this time reintroducing one of his arch villains. The final outing for Daniel Craig is once again a very measured, mature and intelligent thriller with plenty of action sequences that are spectacular without the absurdity that has marred Bond films before the current renaissance. It has strong themes such as the undermining of law and social justice by immoral corporations, the dangers of mass surveillance and the inherent amorality of drone technology. Craig is also once again superb in the role but ironically, considering the …
