Yikes. Proof that the Golden Globes are mindless. The stodgy voters for the Globes must have felt right at home with this movie. Bad pacing, simple minded plot, and nothing to offer in terms of uniqueness, it is as if the Producers of this movie bribed the HFP.

Pleasant film about retirement age folks. The fine cast brings some charm to the mundane story. I couldn't overlook the averageness of the proceedings. This one is for the older crowd.

A dramatic story of some old people who want to make the best of their last years. They think to find it in 'The best exotic marigold hotel',... In the beginning it seems to be a bit overreacted, the place is a tiny bit more than a dump. Along the way the oldies seem to adapt to the land and to the place they live and find the rest they were looking for.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I thought it revealed the diiferent kinds of plights that elderly people can find themselves in, especially if they haven't prepared well. It reminded me too of the show Outsourced. But mostly I thought it was funny and touching, and made you root for the characters, because "it will be alright in the end, and if it is not alright, then it is not yet the end"-a good phiosophy to live by.

If you like character development, then this is your movie for sure! However, if you like plot development, then look elsewhere. But, it's definitely worth the watch.
