Let's kick some ice!

By this point, most people consider this to be one of the worst superhero movies ever made, and they are right. This is the film that completely destroyed the first Batman series on the big screen. Director Joel Schumacher took everything from his first (mediocre) effort, Batman Forever, and took everything to the extreme. The dialogue is even cornier, the acting is somehow worse, and the plot is just ridiculous. In the grand scheme of things, Batman & Robin is the absolute worst Batman film ever made, and will probably hold that title for a LONG time.

What is the genius plot they came up with this time? Batman & Robin are trying to stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from covering Gotham City with Ice and Vegetation. Mr. Freeze needs to steal diamonds because he needs them to survive …

Batman & Robin review

Utilizing big name artists doesn't mean popularity and box office hits. The flick had numerous cheesy lines, effects loaded, Clooney's dreary portrayal of Batman, nipples for the Batman & Robin suits, and uninteresting plot just destroys the franchise. Poor character build-up as well for the additional villains and Batgirl’s inclusion doesn’t make things better. Amazing how Ivy and Freeze crash a party at the same time. The soundtrack was clearly better than the overall movie as one can enjoy the Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. So many things wrong in this film, Batman and Robin was rewarded happily by the Razzie Awards. It recognized Schumacher (Worst Director), George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell (Worst Screen Couple), Akiva Goldsman (Worst Screenplay), both Chris …

Bad Batman Movie

Katie D. - wrote on 10/18/2010

Ugh, so disappointed. What the heck happened here?! This movie had so much potiental to be amazing and it failed, majorly. We're introduced to Robin and Batgirl, both who are just terrible. I couldn't stand Robin and don't even get me started about how angry I am that they screwed up Babs story. Then we're introduced to far too many villians to fit into one solid movie. That was another problem. We had to juggle between Two-Face (who I liked), Poison Ivy (ah, so-so), and Dr. Freeze (blaaah). All three villains barely get any screen time so we don't find out much about them. That angered me because both Dr. Freeze and Poison Ivy were origin stories as well and they just skimmed over it.

Overall, terrible movie. I really only gave it a star and a half because I'm obsessed with the …

Just Awful

This, by far, is the worst of the Batman movies. It is a cumbersome, clunky circus of a movie. There's just way too many characters going on. The whole things feels like one continuous explosion with lots of cheesy dialogue. I actually feel bad for George Clooney. He didn't really have much to work with and besides, Batman wasn't on screen all that much. There was lots of emphasis on the bunch of bad guys they threw together. I guess all the colors and explosions and chases were there to try and distract us all from noticing the lack of real plot and character development. I don't know who wrote this crap, but whoever it is, totally sucked regarding this movie. It's an ugly mess. Honestly, I wasn't overwhelmed with this particular series of Batman movies. My favorite is the one …

One of the worst films of all time

This movie somehow misses the mark on every level. They tried to make a Batman movie that was funny, action-packed, true to the tv series and modern; but what they made was a stupid, flawed, annoying to watch disgrace of a film.

I may be a bit harsh, but look at what they had to work with. They had decent actors in Clooney and Thurman, they had the all-time greatest action hero with Schwarzenegger and they had a large enough budget to do some crazy special effects. The terrible dialog just made the actors look foolish throughout and the comedic scenes that were put throughout the film turned me off when I was trying to get into the movie.

The crappiness doesn't stop there though. The sound effects were horrible, they tried to get back to using the "Bap! Bamp!" style effects that …
