"I'll see my lawyer about this as soon as he graduates from law school!" Brilliant. Just brilliant. I can't believe it took me so long to finally get around and watch one of the Marx Brothers films. But man, I can imagine this was a pain to film, and there had to be so many takes to perfect the comedy and timing. There was a part in the movie where a prop chair fell on Groucho Marx's head during a chaotic scene, and I could tell it was not planned at all. Thankfully, the results made for one classic comedy.

The quick wit of Groucho Marx and the slapstick antics of his brothers keep the otherwise tiresome political action tolerable. Annoying musical numbers interrupt the plot occasionally.

A hilarious farce that is certain to entertain any fan of good old-fashion slapstick.

One of the Marx Bros. best comedies. Nothing but a straight barrage of wacky gags and one-liners. The jokes come at you so fast that it makes the laughter literally non-stop. Those looking for character and story should look elsewhere. This is comedic schtick at maximum velocity.

This is the Marx Brothers at the height of their unique blend of absurdist and pun-heavy comedy. It occasionally makes no sense and is sometimes disjointed, but is always funny. The mirror scene is a comedy classic.

I have been a fan of the Marx Brothers for years. Their comedy is one that they began back in the age of Vaudville, and it took off like a rocket. Duck Soup is credited as being the finest Marx Brothers movie ever released. It is one of their earlier movies as Zeppo Marx is still playing the straight man for their routines. Margaret Dumont (considered by many to be the 5th Marx Brother.. even though she's not a Marx, and is a woman) once again offers an amazing performance as Mrs. Gloria Teasdale the wealthy widow that Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho) is trying to impress. If you like old time slapstick style comedy, then Duck Soup is one for the collection.
