Nick Marshall (Mel Gibson), a Chicago advertising executive, had an accident that makes him hear the thoughts of women. he becomes close with colleague Darcy McGuire (Helen Hunt). It proves that the two leading artists can do comedy if given the proper characters coupled with a decent script. Screenplay falters towards the end since the routine was repetitive. The premise was good but the film lacked the humor and staying power to make it memorable. What Women Want is worth a look for its idea and performances of Hunt, Tomei and Gibson.

For a movie about a dude that can hear women's thoughts, it didn't come close to it's potential and instead boiled down to the tired rom-com cliches.

Gibson completely invests himself in the role and his charisma carries a lot of the scenes that would seem forced with a lesser actor. The entire plot, however, is based around a premise that eventually runs out of gas and the syrupy ending doesn't quite land home.

Most of the people in it usually make good movies, but not this time, unfortunately.

A fun romantic comedy about what might happen if a man really knew what the women around him were thinking.

A cute idea, and Mel plays it to the hilt, but somehow I prefer Mad Max or William Wallace over this. Still, Gibson and Hunt have some good chemistry and its a nice change of pace.

I really liked it the first time but was bored by a rewatch. Never know. Great cast, though.

Most of the time I love every dang flick by this guy. So I do this one. I laughed a lot and reading women thoughts is not that bad idea. Sometimes I wish I could get caught by a thunder. Women are indeed a whole mistery. Oh well.

Mel Gibson may have taken a turn in a different direction lately, but in this movie he shows that he has amazing comedic timing, and his reactions to all of the thoughts the women are having is priceless.
