With not a single dull moment, "Traffic" is engrossing, gritty, and raises issues still relevant to the war on drugs over a decade after the film's release.

TRAFFIC is a lengthy but powerfully acted crime drama showing various sides of the War on Drugs. Tying threads together are three great lead performances by Benicio Del Toro, Michael Douglas, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Rarely does a mammoth ensemble film such as TRAFFIC tackle a divisive issue in a manner that while nuanced is by no means neutral. But it succeeds.

sufficiently raw and original. catherine zeta jones establishes herself as one of the top actresses of our generation with this film. benecio del toros performance does extreme justice , and i do think that michael douglas deserved more recognition then he recieved ultimately.

A truthful drama that shines a more realistic light on the drug trafficking issue. Soderbergh handles the ensemble cast and multiple intersecting stories with ease. The film shows just how our government is simultaneously winning and losing the 'war on drugs'.

Traffic brilliantly balances a diverse group of intersecting storylines, each designed to portray a different aspect of the drug trafficking problem and culture. The ensemble cast is outstanding and the script very smart. Gaghan has obviously done his research, as the screenplay contains layers of knowledge, history, and realism. Captivating and thought-provoking.

A very effective film with three main stories that interlock with many different characters. All the stories are interesting and they all cover different parts of the drug train. Not one of the stories were boring to me and it was interesting where each of them went. It shows the problem without making foolish statements constantly, instead it sticks to the stories and the well written characters. All turn out in interesting ways even though I would say the judge story is slightly weaker because the ending is a little forced but the Mexico story is particularly interesting showing the extreme complications of the problem there.

I've seen better movies by director Soderbergh and by writer Gaghan. Eh.

This film starts off slow but continues to build and build with surprising results. The story weaves in and out between four groups that occasionally interact. I wish it had more character development, but is otherwise an excellent film.
