If i'm blessed with good health and good memory, one day I might find myself as an 80 year old man, reminiscing of the past. And if there is anything i can say with some certainty, its that Stand By Me will have always been and will still be in my top 2 favourite films of all time. I cannot let go of this film.

Four young friends go out on an adventure looking for the body of a boy who died. Their journey tests their friendship, maturity, and courage. Before I watched this movie (someone recommended it to me) I didn't think I would like it because it wasn't my type of movie: young boys, going on an adventure. But it actually turned out to be really interesting, and a little bit sad. If your a young/teen boy, then you will LOVE this movie, and if your just a random person who isn't, you should watch it anyway, coz you'll most probably enjoy it... you never know if you'll like it or not if you never watch it!

A touching film. The young cast does a great job at creating endearing, lovable individual characters -- boys who are each looking for their own identity and purpose. Based on a story by Stephen King, this movie delivers laughs, scares, adventure and heartwarming moments. Mature story lines make this one for older audiences.

I really liked the book, so there's a danger in watching the movie. But it lived up to the book and was about just as good, which is saying a lot. It's tough to get good kid actors. And the scene with the leeches was terrible to think about in the book but in the movie it had me squirming in my seat! Excellent.

One of my favorite of the "coming of age" films. The young cast works great with one another and the bond of friendship just feels real. Strongly recommended for families despite some heavy themes.

An all start cast with the likes of ?The Goonies? (hell, it seems half of them are in ?The Goonies?) takes on rolls that prove children can act, and act well. Cory Feldman should have been a real star! Recommended for Adolescents and adults.
