Magical and undeniably adorable, "The Book of Life" is a beautiful if largely simple fantasy with some original and spectacular animation.

Mexican culture at its most unique

This is one of the most ambitious animated movies I've seen in years. Maybe even ever. "The Book of Life" features some incredibly unique animation, making it irresistible to watch. It's very entertaining. I just wish the same could be said for its narrative. It's not that the idea of it isn't good. In fact, it's a very appealing concept. It's the execution that turns out to be a bummer. We have a great cast of funny characters (and I was laughing pretty hard at some points) at our disposal, but the creators don't create enough emotional depth for us. It's also a bummer that the emotional core of the movie falls flat. Really flat. But it's hard for me to tell you not to see it. A lot of it is really entertaining and funny, and should please ultimately please families on a …

A tale of the Day of the Dead

Knowing this story, I imagined it to be somewhat of a funny comical tale of contention, but the movie does a little bit more than that. Like I said before, it's crazy. The movie moves very fast, some of the characters are VERY comical, and the movements of the characters is all over the place. Sadly, that is my biggest flaw. I can barely catch up with a lot of the things that they were doing, and they didn't give enough to let things sink in. This also makes the emotional moments not as striking as they were going for. However, the movie offers some funny humor with …

You know what time it is? It's Animation time.

The book of Life is about a young man finds himself on a path that can go two different ways: to follow the expectations of his family or to follow his heart. But before making a momentous choice in his life, he must face his greatest fears - and the fantastical journey begins.

What I really like about this movie is that it's different and so it's so colorful with it's animation, and the movie has some frighting scenes about death and the other world that might scare kids, but just like most kids films we see we do see scary and messed up scenes in some kids movie.

The good things in the movie: The animation in this movie is so colorful and so bright that my eyes couldn't get enough of the beautiful animation that was right in front …
