Its premise was good, the execution of the picture however was not. Winona Ryder as Abigail Williams and Daniel Day-Lewis as John Proctor were amazing in their roles. The supporting cast brings in the drama since Best Supporting Actor (Paul Scofield) and Best Supporting Actress (Joan Allen), unfortunately as a whole it was neither bad nor exceptional. If only The Crucible is worth watching for dramatic period pieces.
