This type of movie caters to a very specific audience - sugary sweet, formulaic dribble, with a sob story thrown in to complicate the paltry romance between the two leads. Boring, predictable sap.

Landon (Shane West), a preppy jock who hangs with the popular crowd gets in trouble with the law and as punishment has to join the drama club. There he struggles but is helped with his lines by the geeky and boring Jamie (Mandy Moore) who Landon and his friends used to make fun of. Jamie is the minister's (Peter Coyote) daughter, a sweet, "good" girl who has very few friends and only wants to live life the best she can. The geeky girl inspires the popular guy for a 180 degree change and soon it is no surprise when they learn to find love and friendship. Jamie confides in him and tells him she has a list of things she wants to do in life but alas Jamie has a terrible secret, and soon it threatens to tear them apart forever.
One of the best romantic/teen movies out there minus the …
