Maybe Hitchcock's most simplistic film, but also his most pedestrian. Though he abandons his usual twists and turns for a small-town whodunit mystery, the result is a little more boring than the rest of his work.

Oh wow, this is terribly bad. Save for Shirley MacLaine's first screen appearance. The script is laughably bad, yet she manages to work with it. I found the grave-digging scene to be aggravating. Blahhh.
