Julianne (Julia Roberts)is a 28-year-old woman successful food critic, who years earlier made a pact with her closest male friend, Michael (Dermot Mulroney), that if neither were married in ten years time they would marry each other. But when the phone call finally comes, Julianne must face the fact that her 'man' is about to marry someone else, a nauseating sweet and perky "twenty-year-old" Kimmy (played by Cameron Diaz). He asks her to be his "best man" and she agrees, planning to go to the ceremony and then break up the couple before they exchange their vows! With the support of her best friend George (Rupert Everett, wonderfully gay and handsome), she sets a goal to win the guy, from the bride in the last four days prior to wedding.

Vows and pledges. Rejection and acceptance. Pedestrian idea with some good actors working for us all.

The usual rom/com stuff is here. This wouldn't have been bearable, without Roberts.

This comedy starts out promising, but is derailed by too many whiny and overly-emotional scenes. I also can't really stomach Cameron Diaz in much, and this is yet another film she detracts from.

An okay film with a nice cameo by Paul Giamatti, before he became a recognizable name.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I really like Julia Roberts and the rest of the cast makes for a memorable movie. This movie is sweet, romantic and will give you plenty of laughs.
