A modern style musical that is really quite good. The music is fantastic, but the overly stylized filming of the movie is a bit distracting. In the end the story an the style do work. Nicole Kidman's voice is a bit weak, but this doesn't really detract from the overall movie.

I don't care for Kidman much anyway, but I couldn't stand her in this! I did think McGregor was good. Maybe I would have liked it with another chick as the lead.

Okay, Baz Luhrmann is a crazy, acid-trip addicted, colorful, and overly flamboyant director, but he knows what he's doing when it comes to making good cinema. The masterpiece that is "Moulin Rouge" should not go under anyone's list of "Movies to Never Watch." Nicole Kidman (who I think is one of the greatest of God's gifts) is brilliant and Ewan McGregor is nothing short of watchable. Probably my favorite movie ever, this is a must-see to anyone willing to take a sip of the Green Fairy and journey to the Underworld of freedom, beauty, truth, and above all else, love.

Definately a favorite of mine! A beautiful love story, quirky dance sequences, and catchy tunes! Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor are a brillant and beautiful match. They made this movie something far beyond amazing!

OK. I know that I've publicly stated that I don't like musicals. THIS is the exception! The musical montage style was wonderful and while noone would ever go out and buy a Nicole Kidman or Ewan McGregor soundrtrack, Baz Luhrmann made them very believable with his dazzling directing style.

This movie has perhaps the most brilliant premise ever. The only thing better than Bohemian Paris is Bohemian Paris half-naked on drugs performing leud acts for money. Follow the green fairy. Swallow the blue pill. Moulin Rouge did more to losen sexual mores than Tipper Gore did to stitch them up; there is no scent finer than the corruption of the young.

One of my favorite musicals. It has some wonderful tunes that are placed with some family musical scores. Kidman and McGregor sing well together and the love scenes between the two are perfect. Once you get used to it, you will like it.
