A little hard to follow as it frantically moves around, but "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" turns out pitch-black humor while spinning its tires.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang tries very hard to be "cool," and succeeds a good chunk of the time, mostly due to the sardonic and witty screenplay and over-the-top acting duo of Kilmer and Downey Jr. The action sometimes gets caught in typical crime film cliches, but the on-screen chemistry and repartee of the two leads redeems every scene.

Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey, Jr.) narrates the story of the movie. He is introduced to a private investigator named Perry van Shrike (Val Kilmer) who helps him solve some mysterious deaths. Harmony Lane (Michelle Monaghan) help the two when danger arises. Great character build-up and precise time frames were presented. Plot may tend to be confusing but it will reveal everything in the conclusion. Lacks a better soundtrack but makes up for the fast dialogue. The clever script and earnest performances were a plus. A good dark comedy, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is a worthy look for viewers who enjoy mystery, comedy and noir genre rolled into one film.

A completely self-aware, noir homage, buddy comedy. Funny from beginning to end. Downy and Kilmer are awesome together. This is one to watch a few times.

This movie came right out of left field and made me laugh my ass off. Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. are fantastic together and the plot is perfectly done. Story wise it's nothing you haven't seen before but it's done in a way that will actually keep you one your toes. If you get the chance sit down and watch this movie.

This movie was hysterical! I didn't stop laughing the whole time, even when things got really dark or when Robert Downey, Jr. lost fingers and the mystery became more and more sinister. This film was brilliant in its denouncement of stereotypes (Val Kilmer actually performs admirably in this picture) as well as its razor-sharp wit. A great film that I own and watch on a regular basis.

A zany, entertaining comic thriller, however the entire set-up and screenplay is chock full of in-jokes and is constantly self-aware that its originality and surprises are limited; it has its moments and Michelle Monaghan is fun. FInal Grade: C+

The best movie of 2005 that you never saw. If you like Val Kilmer, watch this film. If you like Robert Downey Jr., watch this film. If you like film noir, watch this film. If you like dark comedy, watch this film. If you like voiceover, watch this film. I can keep going. If you like how Briget Moynihan looks, watch this movie. All told it shows that Shane Black still has it.
