What a ugly movie with horrible parts with the gore and the twist in the movie is so stupid and so missed place that the movie losted me after the twist.

Well done European slasher. Grueling, tense and very gory. It's got the right blend to satisfy anyone's horror craving.

When I first watched Haute Tension...I didn't quite know what I was in for. It sounded like your typical young-people-being-tormented-by-some-psycho film. HOWEVER. What made this film different to me was how well they dished out the, well, tension. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. My only complaint is it's cliche ending....which is why I rated it 3 stars instead of 3.5 or 4. However, it's still very worth watching in my eyes, because it's creepy, it's gory, and it keeps you watching.

Better known as Haute Tension in its native country, this is a rare beast, a French Slasher movie, which seems like a blood soaked relic from the 80s. Pushing the Gore and bloodletting to the very limit, Switchblade Romance is not for the faint hearted or those easily offended by gruesome video Nasties. What lifts this movie from the behind the counter bargain bin is its style, its relentless pace, superior bloody makeup effects (by legendary makeup artist Gianetto De Rossi) and a daft but incredulous twist that is so insane, its almost brilliant.

High Tension has a cleaver idea, but doesn't make it work. It is a very well made movie, with plenty of tension, but it's ending is very unsatisfying(and it actually makes the entire movie pointless). it starts off good, but gets very graphic and is sometimes hard to watch. This movie is not for the faint of heart, or the squeamish. Cecile De France, however, is very good.

A refreshingly original horror film with heaps of gore and a sense of foreboding, but it's tainted by unnecessary dubbing and plot twists that make absolutely no sense. Final Grade: C+

Great horror flick- this is a fun and gory ride. It's definitely worth multiple watches to iron out all of the things that you missed the first time around. I remember seeing this at the theatre and being dissappointed at the end. Then, once I left and thought about it, it made more sense and I finally realized what had happened. This one you have to give a chance and really look at the ending with logic not dissatisfaction. Watch the beginning and then watch the end and everything will clear. Awesome movie though.

Cécile De France is quite great and everything. However, I saw the dubbed version and it was pretty bad. The end was a tad disappointing and rotten (the man???). Oh well, I like Céce in other movies, try Avenue Montaigne (aka Orchestra Seats).

At first this film confused me - but once the last 20 minutes came on, everything made (somewhat) more sense. This is one you'll probably have to watch twice to fully appreciate - to get over that WTF? moment the first time around.
