A pair of con artists are blackmailed into helping the FBI entrap corrupt politicians or face jail. David O. Russell's long con comedy drama was very well received upon its release and fans of Martin Scorsese will no doubt see his influence throughout the film. It has the flavour of a PG rated version of Casino as these amoral hustlers try to out manoeuvre each other while staying one step ahead of the organised criminals they are charged with duping. Its light-hearted tone makes for a few amusing moments, often revolving around Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence's car crash of a marriage and the general level of ineptitude displayed by this cut price Ocean's crew. But one thing the story didn't seem to have is any kind of narrative momentum. It just seemed to be a loose collection of …

I really enjoyed this movie. The story was fun but the acting, music and costumes made the movie. Every actor in this movie was phenomenal and they all earned every acting nomination they got and more. The music and the costumes were great and made the movie fun to listen to and watch. The story got a little slow in a few places but the amazing acting and great costumes kept thing interesting at those parts. Christian Bale had to hands down be my favorite actor in the movie. He played the part perfect, you wanted to dislike him but he had just enough redeeming qualities to make you have like him. And with all the make up and wardrobe you almost for got you were watching Christian Bale. The rest of the cast was great as well, Amy Adams was incredible as con-artist Sydney and Jennifer …

I never would have thought the strength of this movie would be so difficult to explain.
It is uncandidly inherent, in other words: you know that subjective feeling it provides when you watch it. It either bores you or grabs you and rattles you, and I am glad to report that it did just the latter, constantly.
The scope of this movie is divided between its characters. We start at one hilarious person and go to the next. From the hairdos to the way the streets looked to the mannerisms of this stellar cast to the movement of the camera, everything seemed like it was huge and deserved your concentration, especially the actors who put their hearts into their characters to make them memorable, in which they succeed admirably.
Directors should give their actors the space David O. …

about a conman and woman who get caught and are forced to set up others to avoid prison.
Brilliant cast. This is what i call actors film, as its all about the acting and screenplay. When it comes to who is the best actor robert de nero usually gets mentioned but christian bale again proves here why he is one if not the best actor, de nero also has a tiny part in this movie. bradley cooper is great another actor who is getitng better and better. jennifer lawrence was brilliant she has such a great future. amy adams was also great as well as the rest of the cast.
Its very much a talky character driven movie if your looking for action or a oceans eleven style movie its not one of those. there's no real action to it. but there is some great scenes and funny little moments that you will …

David O. Russell's new film, American Hustle, had one of the year's coolest, most exciting trailers that easily and immediately injected viewers with ultra-high expectations. By observing the enormous and cinematically unbeatable cast, the amazing song "Good Times Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin, and the stylish camera work and production design, this film looked like a cinematic orgasm. Let's be honest. And plus, that fact that David O. Russell is calling the shots - you know, that guy who made last year's outstanding Silver Linings Playbook and 2010's compelling The Fighter (he also made I Heart Huckabees, but I'll try not to talk about that thing now) - raises hopes even more. Does American Hustle meet the high anticipations? Hmm...
The film's opening title card suggests that "Some of …
