My biggest gripe with this movie is that it simply is not well made. The writing and acting are bland. There wasn't an interesting scene in the movie. The whole thing is based on the mistaken belief that watching a man age backwards is interesting. It is not. No event from Benjamin's life is worth putting into a film. No discussion he has with anyone is memorable. I truly believe that the only reason Benjamin ages backwards is that he knows he's a boring lump of nothing without that quirk. This movie really feels like it was made by a committee that was so obsessed with making an Oscar-winner that they threw away every risky idea.

Overly long, but brimming with heartbreak and pathos the whole way through, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a curious coming-of-age fable indeed.

I think the director went backwards when he was writing this movie. This movie is about a man who was born in his 80s in 1918 ages backwards. As the years pass, he grows younger, encounters love and joy, death and sadness. this movie felt kind of shallow movie with a good cast.

David Fincher brilliantly works out themes of mortality, love, and hope into an epic film, intertwined around the basic premise of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story. The film's richly layered and often melancholy plot requires a bit of time to settle in. That may be the only complaint of the film - it's a meandering and slow-moving piece that builds to a strong thematic point, but takes a long time to get there. For those with little patience, the beauty of Benjamin Button may not be quick enough to reveal itself, but, for those who let the whole film wash over them, the result is satisfying.

A good movie, as expected given the Oscar nominations. A great story about human triumph, but I found it to be a bit sad.

Really slow movie. You have to give it a chance, about an hour long chance. Was still a good movie though. Not one that I would want to watch again though.

Spellbinding and wildly ambitious fantasy which celebrates the journey of life through all its joy, sadness and regrets. Using state of the art (but very subtle) CGI, (check out an extremely young Brad Pitt), Button is a delightful and admirable vision of an unusual mans leisurely odyssey from birth to death or old age to youth as is the case. Pitt has an innocent like charm which reverberates throughout the film and he is ably supported by Cate Blanchett and the wonderful Tllda Swinton. A curious reminder of mortality, Button is an imaginative, charismatic and heartbreaking tale brought to life by an extremely talented and ultimately audacious director.

I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it in theatres which is saying something because I usually cant sit for near 3 hours. It seemed to go really quick, which could only happen if I enjoyed it. The movie had the same feel as Forrest Gump in that it captured the life of a special individual. The idea was obviously one of a kind and it was directed perfectly. Its a must see for any Forrest Gump fan, but don't expect it to be better.

A great movie, though not exactly what I expected. The scenes with Tilda Swinton are by far the best, but I did enjoy David Fincher's long interpretation of a short story that you can find in every Literature book on earth. I thought this was far too long to give an audience its true prospect, but at the same time, it was long enogh to keep me interested. Good job.
