In this second chapter book of the Chronicles of Narnia, the Pevensie family of children travel back to Narnia only this time it seems like it is years, maybe centuries later. Their new task is to right the world once again and restore power back to the lands rightful owner, Prince Caspian. Based on the book written by C.S. Lewis. The movie tries to be like lord of the rings but fails and the CG looks okay in some parts of the film.

A lot of the magic and charisma of the first film is sapped in this darker and slower second film. The special effects may have improved, but the film's distracting moralizing has gotten more prominent. This is a murkier and less focused film that misses a lot of the charm and power of Lewis's book.

Not nearly as good as the first, and quite possibly too heavy in Christian overtones.

It wasn't as good as the first one, that's for sure. But, for the type of movie it is, it's still pretty good. The ending just wasn't all that great. The best parts of the movie was when the mice would talk. THAT was worth watching. I can't wait for the third one!

So much better than the first movie, but still not great. The child actors still suck, the story is portrayed too "cutsie" but overall it is getting better.

A good fantasy film with some good battle scenes and a nice story. Although this one is not as good as the first one it stills is a nice film. The problem is it is just basically a lesser version of the first one with a lamer villain and a new hero that adds little. But if you like a better than average fantasy film like I do you will still like this because it is still enjoyable in all the right ways. Pros: Keeps the fantasy fun with several characters and scenes. Makes sure to keep it looking good in terms of scenery and all the performances are good. Cons: Villain is not special and certain elements are not fully developed. Villains wrapped up a little to quickly and easily.

Prince Caspian, the second book in the Narnia trilogy by C.S. Lewis, builds on the strengths of the first film. The actors playing the Pensieve children are much more comfortable in their roles and are stronger characters. New characters are mostly okay, although Ben Barnes' Prince Caspian is a little too tentative at times. The special effects are stronger, the story is a little darker, and Caspian is a worthy follow up to the first Narnia film.
