Undeniably cheesy but thrilling all the same, "Point Break" is ideal summer blockbuster junk food.

Stylish and Cool

As far as action movies go, this one is stylish and cool. The cast is fine, the acting is okay, not spectacular, but the story is interesting and is a break from the standard action fare. Throughout the film, you can see the parallels between FBI Agent Johnny Utah (Reeves) and bank robber Bodhi (Swayze) and how they learn to respect each other, despite being on opposite sides of the law. Gary Busey is his usual eccentric self, appearing as Utah's older and more experienced partner Angelo Pappas. John C. McGinley is the angry and foulmouthed FBI Director Ben Harp.

Point Break review

Dialogue was mostly awful though this critic enjoyed a specific line from Bodhi – “Life …

Rookie FBI agent, "Johnny Utah" (Keanu Reeves) has been assigned to the Los Angeles in to the Bank Robbery Division fresh out of training. He is a bit gung-ho, and is partnered up with a veteran (Gary Busey) who is fairly similar to him.
"Agent Angelo Pappas" (Busey) has been hunting a gang of professional bank robbers, each wearing a mask in the resemblance of former US Presidents which caused the authorities to nickname them "The Ex-Presidents."
"Pappas" has a theory that the bank robbers are, in fact, surfers financing their travels in search of the best wave. However, not even the head of the division believes his theory, which is based on evidence.
The two, with "Utah" going undercover, go to the local beaches to find possible suspects, as the robberies continue.
