Probably not as good as what I've rated it. But hell, this flick delivers the martial arts fighting and then some. Some genre picks I just can't put a critical eye on and I end up enjoying them.

This is a classic B movie staring a B movie great - Jean-Claude Van Damme. Great campy marshal arts fun! All lovers of the marshal arts movie must watch this ode to crazy street fighting death matches. Its like street fighter without magic or aliens. Very fun with lots of good action and strange characters!

But it is a far cry from being as brilliant as I thought it was growing up.
As far as a fighting movie, yeah it has some interesting fight scenes. But the story is weak, and the dialogue is pretty bad. This film is easily considered a B rated martial arts film by any standard these days. If you want to see Van Damme in his first American film, then by all means check it out, but keep in mind it is Van Damme and you won't be …
