Lackluster humor and mismatched casting drags this screwball comedy down. Bette Davis is a great actress but not a good fit for this kind of movie. James Cagney tries to breathe some life despite the lack of chemistry between him and Davis. The best performance of the film is Jack Carson as the fortune hunting fiancée to Bette Davis.

The best part in this movie was the California / Nevada thing with the elderly man. It was a hilarious, cool twist.
