16 Blocks is entertaining enough, but the lack of any real momentum prevents it from becoming anything more than a mildly engaging actioner.

Detective Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) is tasked to bring Eddie to testify against corrupt cops. The plot is revealed after more than an hour and the way Eddie talked was somewhat annoying. Action was decent and the conclusion was alright. Bruce Willis was solid. The picture could have had a better soundtrack and supporting cast. Most scenes however show the intelligence of Mosley such as the ambulance and recording his conversation with a fellow colleague. A decent thriller, 16 blocks is a worthy look.

This movie was just going through the motions. Generic to it's core.

Far from charming the audience, Mos Def's incessant nasal ramblings serve only to wear on the nerves and although Donner handles the action sequences reliably enough, the plot is so lacking in imagination that it feels like its treading …
