I picked this movie up at the library & put it down but went back for it & I'm glad I did.It was a very good WW2 flick that was something different.I still can't get the image of the soldier getting hit by the tank missle out of my mind.If you're expecting a happy ending, Forget about it! You won't get 1 here

Hugely under acclaimed movie! It's in Russian / German but whoever did the english sub-titles did a fantastic job. I was able to record this (on VHS - those were the days) when it was shown on tv here, however the days of video are more or less long gone, as is my tape and vcr. Would love to get this on DVD though. A MUST see for anyone into war movies or studying the Germans vs Russians in WW2
