I think this is the point where John Carpenter just made whatever he wanted and he was okay with it.

Lame post-Buffy vampire flick made well after Carpenter's star had well and truly waned. Humourless and stupid with feeble set pieces and dialogue like "A master vampire who can walk in daylight. Unstoppable. Unless we stop him." But it's still a hundred times better than Ghosts Of Mars...

now to be honest, when I was a kid I used to rent this film all the time from my hollywood video store.and I must say,i've always loved this film.it's not Carpenter's best, but it's not a miss either.some people disliked this film, well I actually liked it.I found it to be original and entertaining.the characters are all geat in they're own way.James Woods is of course amazing in this film.Daniel Baldwin gives us a great performance.I also consider this film to be one of the great vampire films, not the best, but one of the greates.
