A spectacular score by Jerry Goldsmith and beautiful scenery cannot save this often boring melodrama about jungle scientists racing to find a cure for cancer. Sean Connery is interesting but Lorraine Bracco was severely miscast and ends up whiny and petulant. Its best moments are whenever the characters venture into the canopy and zipline through the trees.

Dreary eco-drama that involves nothing but Sean Connery swinging through some trees and a feeble and entirely unconvincing romantic interlude wih Lorraine Bracco.

This is a film that's more about the message than the delivery. Yet that message is delivered and the premise is sound. It could have been better, but I'm happy enough where it stands to recommend watching it at least once.

The only thing that I remember about this movie is the tragic ending. I do, however, remember thinking that it was a decent movie from beginning to end though.

Bracco is so annoying that anything redeeming about this film is lost in her irritating performance.

The best part about this movie is how beautiful the rain forest and their message of not destroying the mysteries within it. Not Connery's best film but it is still entertaining enough to watch and his acting is still decent.
