What the hell was that All this hype around this movie im sorry I didnt think it was very good at all sure it was a sad story but nothing stood out about it to me I was looking forward to it and it shocked me to find out that it was A lame and mostly boring generic movie with overll average acting don't believe the hype ......................................

What a sad, sad story. The amount of drama in this girl's life is extreme. I can't imagine having that life. My two favorite parts of the movie are all of the fantasizing and Mo'Nique's last scene. But, I'm also kinda concerned that this movie might play into the already all-to-common belief that everyone on welfare is lazy, black, and female.

One of the greatest Drama I've witnessed this year, Precious was one of those movies that didn't represent what we can call the "Ideal" situation or the perfect side, It's just everything was turned on her whether her Mom, her obesity, her father when he raped her or even her reputation in school, precious was nothing and she was in a dead end in her life, then the tiny shining light came on and gave its hand to precious and told her to that life must go on whether you like it or not and you have to struggle very hard to reach the goal you want. Precious ..... what a precious story.

I absolutely adored this film, in the deepest parts of me, I believed Gabourey Sidibe's powerful performance, and Mo'Nique (I can't believe I'm saying this) proves that she is a force to be reckoned with in the acting world. The messages within this film extend to every fiber, every bit of soul that we have, leaving its shattering remarks in scars acros my heart. I believed every minute of this film, even the parts that were not so believable. Powerfully performed, grittily written, and devilishly directed, "Precious" is a wonderful film that everyone should see.

A gritty and strongly acted drama revolving around Precious, a teenager sexually abused by her father, verbally and physically abused by her mother, and struggling to figure out who she is. There are some really disturbing scenes and lines, but the movie holds no punches in its portrayal of its tragic heroine. It's not easy to watch, but it challenges you as a viewer to be handle its difficult subject matter.

There are not any surprises really in this movie about a Harlem teen faces the troubles. It's story I felt was rather standard and the big differences in the film were the directorial flares that sometimes seemed proper for a scene but I felt other ones seemed to be there just to be there. It is well acted, and shot but the story has nothing that cannot be seen other places. It is probably better done than other similar films but I knew where it was going to go the whole time.

A depressing, true look at Harlem in 1987 (and probably today). The movie is very solid and well done. The acting is good the story is told well and it is a worthy movie. But, it doesn't show us anything we already don't know. Pretty good.
