The worst movie ever made. The Last Airbender is offensively bad. Being a massive fan of the show, this hurt to watch. I was only 5 or 6 years old when I first saw it and even then I hated it. It's boring and has god awful action scenes. They use exclusively white actors for no particular reason. THE NAMES ARE MISPRONOUNCED. It angers me to talk about this movie. Everything about this movie is horrible and offensive.

Four nations based on four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water are kept at peace thanks to The Avatar - a person with the power to control all four elements. When The Avatar goes missing, the nation of Fire declares war threatening the balance. The 12-year-old Aang now has to realize his destiny as the new Avatar, control his powers and bring peace back to the four nations. This movie has the worst acting that I ever seen in a movie, $150 million dollars was wasted for this movie and that's a waste of money, the visual effect's are terrible and the 3-D unspeakable.

Even though I never seen the original material, I have to believe it's more entertaining than this. The main problem is the plot meanders all over the map and the young, mostly unknown, cast can't shoulder the weight of this huge spectacle. Even the special effects seem sub par. It promises a sequel, but I don't think we'll have to worry about one.

Has some dull scenes, lack of character development, miscasts and sense of direction. Just a lack of planning in my opinion. The special effects were not impressive, it was like watching a cartoon than a movie. We need to see more Unbreakable type flicks. The Last Airbender could have been way better.

When taken as a fantasy film, this is pretty bad - wooden acting, murky plotline, cheesy special effects. However, when taken in the context of the series on which it is based, it's an absolute travesty and M. Night makes meaningless departures from the source material.

The adaptation of Nickelodeon's American-Anime is purely for M. loyalists, which surprisingly still exist. Aside from the crime of not explaining anything (what are those flying, talking lemur thingees??), the biggest crime of all is that Avatar is just boring and dull. If one can't even entertain the young "ADD-Nick" club then pack it up!

M. Night Shyamalan serves up a decent film in Airbender, the story of a boy beginning to embrace his destiny. Sure, there are some flaws, but they don't hurt the overall story. There's a lot of stuff crammed in, but I'm not going to hold that against the film, there was a lot of backstory, characters, and history to cover and other than doing it over 2 films, I'm not sure it could have been done better. Yes, some of the child actors are clearly inexperienced, but no more so, than say, the Harry Potter trio were in their first film. Overally, Airbender serves to introduce us to a story and set the stage for the future. If it continues, I'll definitely watch.
