Good film. Well acted and well written, but the film's main narrative is hard to uncover under all the characters and stories.

Quite reminiscent of Traffic, this multi-layered story examining differing political elements revolving around the oil business is complex (almost too much so) and fascinating, but fails to engage on a personal level as you never get to really know any of the characters involved. It is a brave and politically objective film, but I'd hardly call it hugely entertaining. More Edutaining and worth watching at least once for that reason.

The pace of the story, screenplay and plot were just dull and dry. Character development could have been given attention to. Had some solid performances, which really doesn't make a good movie. The intent and premise seemed interesting, if only the execution was better. Nothing thrilling or dramatic about the star studded film, Syriana could have been better if Soderbergh directed it instead of producing it with Clooney.

Quick-paced plot and dialogue that is worth following. It's fascinating how mired this film is in political themes and intrigue. George Clooney gives a completely transformative performance that differs from his usual "pretty boy" characters.

Syriana is an interesting film that has trouble delivering the goods. The Acting is good with George Clooney giving a solid performance even though he's not in the movie long. Matt Damon and Jeffrey Wright also give good performances. It is Well directed also. The problem with this movie is that the writing is bad, making the story way to complicated and confusing. Another problem is that there are way to many stories to follow. To Bad, if done right, this one could have been great.

Syriana has the actors and it has a story relevant to the time, but unlike other recent ensemble pieces, I never felt this connected with me. The pacing is the biggest detraction - it moves so slow it never caught my attention.

Haven't read the script, but I can tell I liked this film. I'm neutral politically speaking, so I'm nobody's side. I think that the movie portrays in a very accurate way what's going on today in mideast, and how that influence in europe and the occidental world. I think the movie is not a masterpiece, it lacks some kind of touch that I can't put in words, but it's indeed a great one. George Clooney's best.

I'm not as passionate about hating this movie as the other two reviews. I wouldn't say it was a good movie, nor would I recommend it though. This movie was work. I felt like I had to pay attention to everything that was said...everyone started looking alike. I really wanted to get behind this movie because I like conspiracy movies and dirty politics, but I have to say don't waste your time.
