This was a fun adventure love story. The casting was wonderful. Robert DeNiro was perfectly hilarious.

I have read (and re-read) the novel by Neil Gaiman, and I believe that the movie really captures the essence of the book well. I was a little skeptical at first while watching it, but I soon got over the minor changes to the storyline. In fact, many of the changes actually improved on the novel, such as the entire last twenty minutes or so of the film. I had always thought that the ending of the book was a little weak, even though it followed the pattern of many classic fairy tales. I also enjoyed the expansion of the role of Captain Shakespeare, which added a great comic element to the story. All in all, I think that this is a great adaptation of the novel, and I am looking forward to more films from Neil Gaiman's books.

I was really suprised by this movie and how much it pulled me in. It's been awhile since we've seen a good fairy tale film, and Stardust nails it. It helps that the movie is perfectly cast, has an engaging plot, and great special effects. Unfortunately it didn't do well in theatres, which is a shame because I think a lot of people missed out on something extremely entertaining.

I was happy to see Robert De Niro in a dynamic supporting role. It reminded me some of his role in Brazil. The acting is fairly good with surprise performances coming from the young male star. The best fantasy since The Princess Bride.

I'm not much for Fantasy Movies, but this movie had some high points. I appreciated the makeup especially on Michelle Pfeiffer. Robert De Niro's character was an interesting one which I liked a lot. Claire's performance was good. Sienna Miller... always see her as the snobby bitch anyway, so nothing new on her. All in all- good movie. 3 stars out of a possible 5.
