Great premise ruined by execution. It opts for lowbrow laughs instead of whimsical wonder. A better version of this movie could resemble something like 'Independence Day' crossed with 'Ready Player One'. There are a couple times I did chuckle. The PAC-Man chase scene is probably the best part even if they spoiled it in the commercials. Adam Sandler and Peter Dinklage were not terrible. Michelle Monaghan has a nothing role but does well despite that. I usually like Josh Gad but he was horrible and annoying in this. I did get a brief nostalgic smile at the classic arcade characters and while I am not a gamer, I do think gamers deserve something better than this.
