I enjoyed this movie, but it's so strange that I don't often recommend it to anyone. I was drawn to it by its provocative title, and then by the fact that its screenplay was written by one of my favorite writers, Kazuo Ishiguro. It's a trip to experience, like an early talkie produced and directed by acid freaks. No need to follow the wacky plot. Just sink into the startling and dreamlike imagery and sounds.

This is certainly a strange, unique film. It's a satire, some broad, at other times esoteric. The style is reminiscent of 20s and 30s with black and white, distorted lens and sudden technicolor. Odd yet compelling. An underground wonder.
