"Battle of the Sexes" is sensational when it highlights King's accomplishments, but it's at its best when it strikes with some timely commentary.

Emma Stone and Steve Carell liven up a by the numbers sports drama. It's really aiming for that prestige piece glory. It does look nice and I can buy this taking place in the 70s.
