A superhero saga filled with so much drudgery and unnecessary gloom it feels like part of the DC Universe. "Dark Phoenix" is the most laborious and inconsequential "X-Men" yet and ends this once promising chapter in the franchise on a sour note.

“You're always sorry, Charles. And there's always a speech. But nobody cares!”
‘Dark Phoenix’ ends with a flicker rather than a bang. It’s quite depressing that a franchise that basically breathed life into the superhero genre that we know today sadly stopped caring.
Despite everybody desperately holding on for hope that ‘Dark Phoenix’ would be a solid exist, I was the complete opposite - the evidence being in the development stages. This movie has been pushed back three times, a first time director Simon Kinberg, the test screenings was called “disastrous”, and the lack of interest the cast had towards the …

The best thing I can say about Dark Phoenix is that I liked it better than Apocalypse. It still is a sad ending to a good franchise as it lacks the emotional depth for such a powerful story. Big moments that should have a major impact just fall flat and you really connect with the characters.
Things start off well enough, in a nice 90s touch, the X-Men - now friends to the U.S. Government, are called in to save the space shuttle Endeavor after it encounters some malfunction in space. Our core group is here - Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). Despite his hesitations about using the never-tested-for-space plane, Professor Charles …

My Box Office Prediction
Opening: $47 Million
Domestic: $112 Million
Overseas: $303 Million
Worldwide: $415 Million
My Say: Considering X-Men: Apocalypse got mixed reviews from critics and only okay responses from audiences and performing under expectations at the Box Office plus the bad buzz around Dark Phoenix, Things are looking pretty grim for Dark Phoenix.
