At its worst, "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is better than the "Transformers" franchise at its best, but it can neither avoid an indisputable comparison to the dead in the water Michael Bay directed series, nor live up to the original's entertainment value.

I thought the first Pacific Rim was OK - I mean, it's Guillermo del Toro, so there is some merit even if it was giant robots beating on giant monsters. This sequel suffers from a lack of del Toro - also a lack on interesting characters and only a slightly interesting story. All told, this seems like a pointless endeavor - barely above a Transformers-level of a chaotic level of action and a mess of everything else. Unless you're hard up on giant robot fights, look elsewhere.

"Trololololo Lalala Oh-hahaha-ho Haha-hehe-ho Hohoho-he-ho Hahahaha-ho Lolololololo Lolololololo Lolololololo Lololo-LOL! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" That's in the movie, by the way. I couldn't believe it. They actually played the trololo song. As if to troll film lovers for expecting quality.

where you came from,
who believed in you

What amazed me the most was the fact that I couldn’t remember much of “Pacific Rim“, even though I thought it was an original-looking film years ago. No worries. Little by little everything is explained again in such a way that I partially knew it again. And even though “Pacific Rim” wasn’t high-quality cinema and simply a very expensive monster film with superb looking computer-generated images, the film impressed me at the time. “Pacific Rim” was brainless amusement with a high entertainment value. This sequel is simply a duplicate with other main characters in identical Jaegers. But it’s so irritating …

Looks bad ass indeed. I'm expecting a great movie - expecting a very weak storyline, cliche lines, and BADASS action scenes.- Classic action movie.
