Sumptuously filmed romantic melodrama that's carried by a wildly audacious turn by Dorothy Malone, but grounded by a strong performance by Rock Hudson. It's chockfull of silly soapy moments that would make Aaron Spelling salivate with relish. It's hard not to be entertained by it.

Kyle (Robert Stack) has marital problems with Lucy Moore (Lauren Bacall) which in effect worsens his alcohol problem. Mitch Wayne (Rock Hudson) has hidden feelings for Kyle. Not enough interesting scenes and dialogues to keep it enjoyable. Insufficient character development as well though the direction and acting were solid. An average drama about feelings, circumstances and death.
