I suppose this movie is not badly acted necessarily, but lord have mercy, is it long and boring.

A brilliant cast are stranded in the desert and have to stop pulling in different directions to work for a common cause: escape. Very talky and featuring some dubious analogies, but the great dialogue and performances make for a gripping tale.

A satisfactory thriller that is held together by a extremely good cast. The film is not overly complicated but it is an interesting thriller to follow. Although the film lacks anything extraordinary it is good and fun enough to watch for many effective scenes and fairly well done characters. Not perfect by any standards but good. Oscar Nomination Best Supporting Actor Ian Bannen 1/5- A strange nomination by any standard. The film had a lot more notable supporting actors in this than Bannen and Bannen was far superior in the Hill from that same year. He is not bad in any way but his character really has nothing to it. He does not have any big scenes or any scenes that are focused on him or partially focused on him.
