Plot: Maybe the best horror/comedy based on bites: vampire bites. An incompetent scientist takes his young pupil in search of eastern vampires, and failing to kill them, it spreads the disease. The action takes place in the 19th century, when Sharon Tate was a young daughter of an innkeeper. She is taken by master vampire, the count, to the old castle, to be imprisoned forever. -- travincal

It took me a while to get into this one. And I watched it over several "sessions". But, you know, I kind of liked it. It's beautifully-filmed, to be sure. And actually has some laugh-out-loud scenes. It's sort of timeless as a period piece, yet does not show its age as a '70's movie. Darned if I can't remember many of the story details a few weeks later, but it's the atmosphere that remains.
